FFS allows the planner to have a fiduciary responsibility to only one entity, the client. The business model more closely resembles that of public practice CPAs in which clients are billed for the professional’s time.

Career history includes over 20 years combined accounting and tax experience with a national CA firm and as a partner in a local CA firm, five years with the Rulings Division of CRA, and over 20 years with a large bank-owned investment firm

I am Fair Winds Financial Coach. At this stage of the practice, I have no employees so I am responsible for all aspects of the business

“Cool” is in the eye of the beholder. I probably spend too much time on pro bono work. I volunteer with several organizations in the St.Margaret’s Bay area outside Halifax and am a member of the Board of three non-profit groups. I also contribute articles to our community newspaper, The Masthead News. And I’m the proud servant to our five rescue pets, three cats and two dogs.

I respect and relate to clients well, try to listen more than I speak, am calm, trustworthy and non-judgemental, and have been told by many clients that they appreciate the fact that I am patient, understanding and never make them feel as if they are being talked down to.

Articles and blog posts can be found on my website. I send a weekly email to clients along with curated articles from national publications.
